Connecticut Ave NW Reversible Lanes and Multimodal Safety Project — Two Upcoming Public Meetings. Attend either on Tues, June 28, 9-11 am (virtual) or Wed, June 29, 6-8 pm (in-person at UDC)

Connecticut Avenue NW Reversible Lanes and Multimodal Safety Project Public Meeting

For stakeholders’ convenience, District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will conduct both a virtual meeting on Tuesday, June 28 and an in-person meeting on Wednesday, June 29 at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). The same information will be presented at these two meetings.

DDOT will host two public meeting sessions to present an overview of the selected redesign (Concept C) for Connecticut Avenue NW. The Connecticut Avenue Project removes the peak hour, peak direction reversible lanes on Connecticut Avenue, adds one-way protected bicycle lanes on each side of the street, adds left and right turn lanes at signalized intersections, adds pedestrian refuge islands, evaluates all bus stop locations holistically along the Corridor, considers the addition of HAWK signals at various locations, reduces the posted speed limit on Connecticut Avenue from 30 mph to 25 mph plus other safety improvements.

This project supports the District’s commitment to Vision Zero Initiative, which aims to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries. The project area extends 2.7 miles along Connecticut Avenue NW from Calvert Street NW to Legation Street NW. The purpose of the project is to reduce crashes while enhancing safety for all modes.

The purpose of the virtual June 28 and the in-person June 29 Public Meeting is for DDOT to provide an update of the project and present information regarding the selected concept (Concept C).

**Participants only need to attend one of the two meetings. DDOT will provide the same information during each meeting**
