ANC Extension Request – Civic Site Disposition Hearing Public Comments Period
Categories: Agenda
The ANC wants to share an important update regarding the Chevy Chase Civic Site and provide information about an upcoming community survey.
On May 15, 2025, ANC 3/4G submitted a formal request to the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development (DMPED) for a 45-day extension of the public comment period for the Civic Site. This request was made to ensure the ANC could provide a resolution informed by community input and included in the official record before a development team is selected.
We have since received a response from DMPED. While the public comment period will still end on May 28, 2025, DMPED has agreed not to select a development team before July 10, 2025. This additional time will allow ANC 3/4G to submit a resolution that reflects the views of residents, based on survey results. Please note that DMPED stated no further extensions will be granted.
To gather your feedback, ANC 3/4G will distribute a survey to every household within representing approximately 14,000 residents. We anticipate the survey will launch on May 22nd and remain open for responses until June 24th. We will confirm and share the final survey dates with the community as soon as possible.
Please stay tuned for further updates, including a link to the survey and additional details. Your input is essential and will help guide the future of this important neighborhood site.
If you have any questions, please contact your Single Member District (SMD) Commissioner or the Commission at 3G@anc.dc.gov.
