**Update 4/26/22** Draft Chevy Chase Small Area Plan Released by DC Office of Planning on March 14, 2022. New Public Hearing date/location (April 26; 2-7 pm; Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, One Chevy Chase Circle, NW in Chadsey Hall; LIVESTREAM AVAILABLE) and office hours (March 24, April 7, and May 3)

The DC Office of Planning (OP) released the Draft Chevy Chase Small Area Plan (CCSAP) on March 14, 2022. The Commission sent a letter to Interim Director Cozart on March 15, 2022 asking for a longer than 30-day period of public review and comment period, which OP agreed to.

The Draft CCSAP public comment period now runs March 14, 2022 through May 13, 2022 (60 days). Written comments are encouraged, and can be submitted using an online form found on the project webpage (https://publicinput.com/chevychase).

The Public Hearing date and location for the Draft CCSAP was rescheduled and now takes place on:

Time: 2pm – 7pm
Location: Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church (Chadsey Hall), One Chevy Chase Circle, NW
**Livestream: The hearing will also be livestreamed via OP’s YouTube channel**
There is no deadline for individuals to sign up to participate in the public hearing. You can show up to provide oral testimony even if you do not sign up in advance. Limit is 3 minutes per testifier.
Hearing participants can also submit written comments by the May 13 public comment deadline.
Per the Commission’s request, a transcript of the hearing will be posted on the Chevy Chase SAP project page.

During the public comment period, OP will be available in-person and virtually for Office Hours to answer community questions about the Draft CCSAP

  • Thursday, March 24, 2022: 12:30pm-2:30pm at Chevy Chase Library (upstairs meeting room) 
  • Thursday, April 7, 2022: 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Chevy Chase Library (upstairs meeting room) 
  • Tuesday, May 3, 2022: 12:30pm – 2:30pm online (meeting link)

Next steps: After the public comment period closes on May 13, OP will submit the final SAP to Council for approval by Resolution. OP’s Council submission will include a summary of any changes made to the Draft CCSAP and a record of public comments received in writing and transcribed from the hearing.
