No Meeting September 29. Next Meeting online October 13

At its last meeting, ANC 3/4G moved its regularly scheduled September 28th meeting to September 29th because it fell on Yom Kippur. We have now concluded that there is not enough business to hold that meeting, so it is cancelled.  The Commission did not have a meeting scheduled for the second Monday in October because it fell on Indigenous People’s Day, October 12th, when, before the pandemic, the Community Center would have been closed and unavailable for the meeting. Because several issues should be heard in early October, however, we will hold a virtual meeting on October 13th. Important topics for that meeting will include presentations on two programs that begin on October 1st — the new Chevy Chase Main Street and the Office of Planning’s development of a Small Area Plan for the Chevy Chase Gateway (the corridor south of the Circle). The full agenda for the meeting and a link to join will be available by October 6th. Finally, the Commission’s October 26th meeting will be largely devoted to consideration of the report from its Task Force on Racism. (Documents on the Task Force’s work are available on the Commission’s website at https://anc3g.org/task_forces/task-force-on-racism/ .) The three Task Force working groups on housing, education/health, and community are drafting the report over the next few weeks, and the full report will be posted and available on the Commission’s website before the October 26th meeting. We urge everyone interested
