Survey of families with children eligible for pre-K re possible future location for Lafayette Pre-K –> Survey closes January 9

DCPS has advised the Lafayette School community that there is a binary choice regarding projected Pre-K4 lottery slots for School Year 2021-2022. Two options on the table are either (1) reducing the Pre-K4 slots to two classes at Lafayette to fit within available space or (2) relocating the entire Lafayette Pre-K4 population to the former LAMB School at 1375 Missouri Ave, NW, approximately 2.5 miles from Lafayette in order to accommodate all anticipated classes for a full-day program.
ANC3/4G, working with DCPS, is trying to determine whether other options are feasible. The ANC has developed a short 5-minute survey (Go to: Pre-K4 Lafayette Elementary School Survey, January 2021 | pre-K4 Lafayette ES December 2020 – Enterprise Survey Software) intended to help in this process by obtaining much needed community input to help inform the decision-making.
The survey is intended only for families who have a child/children eligible for the Pre-K4 program next school year (SY 2021-22) or the following two school years (SY 2022-23 and SY 2023-24). Only one survey should be submitted per household.
The survey must close on January 9th, to allow time for ANC3/4G to analyze and present the results at its first public meeting of 2021 on Monday, January 11th. If you have questions about the survey or the procedures, you may contact the ANC by email (3G@anc.dc.gov).
